Employer Sponsored and Regional Sponsored Visas
If you have an offer of employment in Australia, you may be eligible for a sponsored permanent visa to Australia.
There are two main categories under this scheme:
- Employer Sponsored, for a position located anywhere in Australia
- Regional Sponsored, for a position located in regional Australia
This scheme is available to workers currently onshore and offshore.
As a visa applicant, the basic requirements for this visa include:
- being offered a position and nominated by an Australian employer
- being less than 50 years old
- meeting the skills, character, health and English language requirements
For an employer to sponsor an applicant under this scheme, the basic requirements include:
- the employer proving that they cannot find a suitable Australian worker to fill the vacancy
- the employer offering an equivalent market salary and terms & conditions to the proposed foreign worker as provided to domestic workers
